The project
Our project is aimed at young people facing socio-economic and educational marginalization, residing in urban contexts, characterized by fewer opportunities. These young individuals come from low-income families, often dealing with migration situations and challenges such as academic underachievement.
The urban environment they live in significantly influences their perception of the relationship with the natural environment, making the connections between lifestyles, environmental impacts, and climate change less apparent. Additionally, they have limited opportunities compared to their peers to venture outside the city and experience natural settings. Consequently, they possess limited knowledge of the connection between their lifestyles and the environment, as well as potential sustainable solutions.
The project aims to address this deficiency by promoting ecological awareness through an integrated approach. We aspire to transform the participants' perception and environmental impact, encouraging them to become key players in constructing more sustainable communities, both locally and across Europe. Through the promotion of active citizenship, personal development, and concrete environmental initiatives, we aim to generate positive, long-term changes in the behaviors, perspectives, and abilities of the young participants.
We seek to convey profound ecological awareness, facilitating participants' understanding of environmental impacts, including those stemming from the urban environment, and enabling them to recognize the connections between their lifestyles and the surrounding natural world. Through an interactive approach, our goal is to stimulate active participation, fostering a sense of belonging to the community and guiding participants in understanding the crucial role each of them plays in creating a more sustainable reality.
Simultaneously, we intend to enhance the confidence and self-efficacy of each young individual by recognizing and valuing their individual strengths, crucial elements for their personal development. Encouraging active citizenship is another central objective of the project. We want young people not only to engage actively in their communities but also to position themselves as driving forces on a broader scale, both locally and within Europe.
A crucial element is the understanding of the effects of climate change and the specific challenges faced by young people in situations of marginalization. We aim to provide them with a thorough perspective on these issues, enabling them to develop adaptation strategies and actively participate in mitigating environmental impacts.
Finally, the project aims to foster the creation of positive social networks among young participants through international exchanges promoting the sharing of experiences, knowledge, and best practices. The goal is to create meaningful connections that can enrich each participant's perspective and contribute to a broader sense of belonging.
Through these objectives, we intend to promote positive changes in the perspectives and abilities of the young participants, contributing to a more sustainable and inclusive future for all generations.
